• Even those who successfully grow produce often don't know what to cook with it. There's a disconnect between "I have these herbs and home-grown vegetables" and "What can I cook using them?"
• Existing recipe apps and gardening guides treat gardening and cooking separately. There's no bridge for someone who wants to "grow it and cook it."
• Beginners feel overwhelmed by too many plant options, unclear care instructions, chaotic recipe lists, and recipes disconnected from what they naturally grow.

Solution:

Herbify is a personalized gardening-plus-cooking app designed to help users grow herbs or vegetables and instantly turn those home-grown ingredients into easy, guided recipes. It unifies gardening, cooking, and community into a single, simple flow so users can move smoothly from “grow it” to “cook it” without juggling multiple tools. While one possible solution was to create offline community meetups, user needs show that people prefer learning and exploring at their own pace. Keeping customer satisfaction at the centre, Herbify focuses on delivering a deeply personalised in-app experience: recommending the right plants to grow, guiding users step-by-step, and suggesting recipes based on their actual garden or available ingredients. This ensures the app becomes a convenient, self-paced companion that supports users whenever they need, right from planting to plating.

• Lower the barrier for beginners: make gardening and cooking accessible to those who have minimal prior knowledge.

   • Retention - how many return after first week / month
   • Feature usage: how many people use plant explorer vs just recipe search; how many use both gardening + cooking features (vs only cooking)
   • User feedback / rating: especially around ease-of-use, clarity of cooking instructions, clarity of plant instructions
2. Guardrail/Do not disturb metrics (These metrics shouldn’t be negatively affected)
   • Drop-off During Onboarding: The new guidance shouldn't cause higher abandonment in the early flow
   • Recipe Frustration Signals: No increase in recipe bounce rate or complaints about ingredients being unavailable.
